One of the key things to get right before you even start is the venue. Whether it's a club for sports, performing arts, tuition or any other activities, selecting the right venue is more than just ticking a box on your to-do list. The venue you choose can have a profound impact on your club’s success. Here’s why making the wrong venue choice can be a costly mistake for your club… ### **1. Membership Retention** A venue that is inconveniently located, lacks adequate facilities, or doesn't offer a welcoming environment can lead to dissatisfied members. Accessibility and ease of travel are crucial factors for many people when deciding whether to commit to regular attendance. If participants face challenges getting to your club or feel the space doesn't meet their expectations, they’re more likely to drop out, leading to a loss in revenue and community spirit. ### **2. Poor Facilities Affect Performance** The quality of your venue directly impacts the experience and performance of your club members. Inadequate equipment, insufficient space, or poorly maintained grounds can limit training, practices, and events. For sports clubs, playing on substandard fields or courts may even lead to injuries. For activity-based clubs, a lack of the right equipment or space can frustrate members and prevent them from reaching their goals, affecting your club's reputation and membership growth. ### **3. Hidden Costs![piggy bank](https://blog.vivifyvenues.com/hs-fs/hubfs/piggy%20bank.png?width=359&height=239&name=piggy%20bank.png)** Opting for a venue with low initial fees may seem like a win, but beware of hidden costs. These can range from maintenance fees and security costs to the need to frequently hire additional equipment. Over time, these expenses add up, draining your budget and reducing funds for other important areas like training, marketing, or member engagement activities. ### **4. Negative Impact on Events** Hosting events is a great way to attract new members and maintain enthusiasm within your club. However, choosing the wrong venue can seriously hamper these efforts. Imagine organising a competition, showcase, or social event in a space that’s too small, lacks parking, or doesn’t have proper sound or lighting. A poorly executed event can tarnish your club's reputation and deter potential members from joining. ### **5. Hindering Growth** If your venue can’t accommodate your club’s expansion, it will limit your potential to grow. A venue with inflexible booking times or limited availability might work in the short term, but as your club's membership base increases, you could find yourself needing more space or better facilities. Being stuck in a venue that can't evolve with you will only restrict your long-term success. ### **Choose the Right Venue with Vivify Venues![vivify website](https://blog.vivifyvenues.com/hs-fs/hubfs/vivify%20website.png?width=482&height=321&name=vivify%20website.png)** At Vivify Venues, we make it easy for clubs like yours to find the ideal space.
