We are ecstatic to have won the prestigious ukactive Healthy Communities award for the UK.

A Healthy Milestone

The award category was open to any organisation delivering a physical activity focused initiative targeted at the wider community to encourage increased activity and participation.

After a gruelling process, one of which was an X-factor style judge's house presentation to NHS leaders, we were then shortlisted with 7 other incredible competitors. The other nominees included; Leeds City Council; Freedom Leisure; Lampton Leisure; Moray Leisure Ltd; Sport Aberdeen; Places Leisure; and GLL & University Hospital Morecambe Bay Trust (the largest leisure trust in the country)! It’s safe to say we were honoured to be shortlisted alongside these incredible organisations alone.

And the winner is!

But on the night, there could only be one winner, which was ……Team Vivify!

This is a monumental achievement for our team who work tirelessly every day, empowering schools to open their doors and inspire happier and healthier lifestyles in their local communities. From improving men’s mental health in Enfield to providing safe places for Muslim women to play sport in Birmingham, the power of opening school facilities goes so much further than one single booking. It really can drive positive change in local communities.

Our team is driven by the belief that nothing is more important than people’s health and happiness. For us to be recognised in this category is an incredibly proud moment for everyone.

What’s next?

We’ve recently reflected on our impact in numbers and are proud that this year we will have facilitated 10 million visits to facilities, and generated £10 million income for our schools which equates to £50 million in social value.

But this is only the beginning, we are not stopping there. We are currently working closely with the Active Partners on the Opening School Facilities initiative, and with the official launch of our new stand-alone booking system, we want to see school facilities open to their local communities everywhere.
